A different way to experience the river

Paddle boarding is an accessible and fun activity, ideal for enjoying the river in a different way. Standing on your board, paddle in hand, let yourself be carried by the current of the Vézère through the landscapes of the Périgord Noir.

Between cliffs, forests and stone villages, paddle boarding offers a unique and peaceful perspective. No experience needed: after a few minutes, you will find your balance and fully enjoy the trip.

Practical tips

Safety

A life jacket is mandatory and provided. Wearing a leash (safety cord) connecting your ankle to the board is recommended.

Minimum age: 12 years

Children under 12 are not accepted for paddle boarding. For younger children, choose our canoe routes accessible from age 5.

What to wear

Bring a swimsuit, sunscreen, hat and water shoes. Paddle boarding is done barefoot on the board, but shoes are useful for boarding.

Equipment provided

Stable inflatable board, adjustable paddle, life jacket and waterproof barrel for your belongings. Everything is included in the price.

Return shuttle

Our shuttle picks you up at the finish in Limeuil and brings you back to the Le Bugue base. Everything is organised, all you have to do is paddle!

Departure

Meet us at our Le Bugue base. After a quick briefing, you will be on the water in just a few minutes. Please arrive 15 minutes early.

Paddle basics

  • Start on your knees to find your balance, then gradually stand up.
  • Keep your eyes on the horizon, not on your feet — that is the secret to stability.
  • Place your feet parallel in the centre of the board, shoulder-width apart.
  • Alternate paddling sides to keep a straight course.
  • Use your hips and core to paddle — not just your arms.
  • If you fall in, do not worry: the water is calm and your life jacket keeps you afloat.
