Two days on the Vézère
No car, self-sufficient, from Montignac to Le Bugue through the most spectacular landscapes of the Périgord Noir: cliffs, forests, stone villages and prehistoric sites. A night by the river, and the silence of the valley at dawn.

The route
Montignac, Tursac, Le Bugue
Day 1: 19 km from Montignac to Tursac, about 4h30 of paddling. Day 2: 21 km from Tursac to Le Bugue, about 5h. Supplies available at Saint-Léon-sur-Vézère and Tursac. Single departure at 9am from the Le Bugue base, be there 20 to 30 minutes early to get your things ready.

The touring canoe
Two-seat canoes imported from Canada, Nova Craft and Potomac, built for long distances: light, spacious, stable, with room for your gear.
Equipment and transport
Paddles, life jackets, minibus transport to Montignac, shuttle back to the base, insurance and a briefing before you set off.
The night is yours
Wild camping is tolerated in certain areas along the river, with your own gear and respect for the place. Otherwise, riverside campsites, hotels and guesthouses in the valley.
Rules
- Being able to swim and submerge is mandatory.
- Life jacket fastened at all times, closed shoes or water shoes.
- Paddle in the middle of the river, respect anglers and private property.
- Your rubbish stays with you, bins are at the base.
In the canoe
- Camping gear, food and water.
- Hat, sunscreen, clothing for the weather, sunglasses on a strap.
- Dry barrel or dry bag for your belongings.
Weather
Free date change in bad weather. We cancel in the event of an orange storm alert, a water level too high or strong winds: by mutual agreement, the booking is moved or refunded.
