Vézère · start Les Eyzies · finish Le Bugue or Limeuil
Canoeing from Les Eyzies
Two of our routes start from Les Eyzies, in the heart of the Vézère valley. The short one comes back to Le Bugue in three hours, the long one runs down to the Limeuil confluence and is hired for the day. Either way you paddle through the village, past a waterfall and along the cliffs.
Les Eyzies
Starting from Les Eyzies
The two routes
The meeting point is not in Les Eyzies but at the finishing base, Le Bugue or Limeuil: you leave your car there, the minibus takes you up to Les Eyzies, and you paddle back down with the current.
Les Eyzies → Le Bugue, 13 km, about 3h, €21
If you only have half a day, this is the one. You paddle through the village of Les Eyzies, catch sight of a waterfall, and wander between the cliffs and tunnels of greenery. Without hurrying, in three hours you are back at the Le Bugue base for a drink at the Guinguette and the rest of your day. Child: €10.50.
Les Eyzies → Limeuil, 18 km, about 4h30, €23
The nature route, with one big advantage: the canoe is hired for the whole day. Ideal with family or friends to discover the wild Vézère at your own pace, its waterfalls and cliffs, the wildlife. Halfway, a possible stop at La Petite Guinguette in Le Bugue for lunch in the shade, then you finish at Limeuil and its beach on the confluence.
